Rescue Heartache

Death is very hard for everyone. Please click here for our Memorial Page. It has pictures of our babies that didn't make it and the ones who made it into their forever homes but then passed on.  It also has poems and a link to a great site our friend Charles

Unfortunately, there is just as much sadness and heartache in rescue as there is happiness and joy.  We, as all rescues and shelters, have to deal with our share of sadness,  Despite all our efforts some of our “special” babies just don’t make it.  But then there are those that do!!!  This page is dedicated to those that come from the worst of the worst situations– abuse, neglect, cruelty or are “special” needs through no fault of their own or anyone else’s— they were born “special”.  These are our “special” babies who have survived their difficulties in life and are now living the best lives possible with all the love and attention they can handle!!

You can click on each pets picture to read their story.

Ruger and Magnum were both chained and starved until Animal Control was called to rescue them.

Karma was beaten red and purple.  Police received several calls about a child being abused and screaming!  When they got there it was this little girl that was being abused.

Justice was originally called James when he was confiscated on Thanksgiving by Animal Control  after they had received calls of a dog bleeding in a neighbors yard.

We were called about a small black Poodle who was left out in a mesa.  She was old, matted, dirty, emaciated, dehydrated, had an infection, couldn’t hear very well, and we thought possibly blind.  Who would do this to such an old companion?

Cassidy was a victim of abuse by her adopter through his failure to acknowledge the pain she was in due to a luxating patella.
